Looking for a unique Japanese cultural experience? Look no further. We are the "Kajiinomiya Goryu School," offering you the best two-hour Ikebana session in a traditional Japanese garden. This program allows you to experience the Japanese art of flower arrangement, Ikebana, under the guidance of our 21st iemoto (headmaster), Isshosai Socho Fujiwara. Throughout the experience, you will witness a 500-year-old heritage and become part of it by creating your own Ikebana masterpiece. After the session, enjoy a photo shoot and casual conversation with the iemoto over tea and sweets. Sankei-en Japanese Garden

This ikebana experience is held at Sankei-en, a nationally designated scenic spot in Yokohama that exemplifies Japanese aesthetics of space and harmony. Established in 1906 by businessman Sankei Hara, a patron of traditional Japanese arts, the garden was recognised as a cultural property in 2007.

Visitors can enjoy seasonal beauty, from spring blossoms to summer lotuses and autumn foliage, maybe winter snow too. A post-session stroll through this serene garden deepens your appreciation of Japan’s cultural heritage.

Catch a glimpse of
Japanese philosophy

Removing your shoes to walk on tatami mats, using specialised ikebana shears and a kenzan, carefully arranging flowers with the intent to minimise waste of the plants gifted by nature—through ikebana, there is no doubt that you will have the opportunity to connect with Japan’s history, aesthetics, nature and spirit.

Exclusive and unique adventure

Experience the art of ikebana in the serene and historic Kakushokaku, a rare treasure rarely open to the public. This minimalist wooden space, with views of a traditional garden, reflects Japan’s “aesthetics of subtraction.”

Guided by the iemoto, enjoy a private moment with a master ikebana artist as you create arrangements inspired by Japanese minimalism. This unique setting, rich in cultural heritage, offers a tranquil connection to Japan’s timeless beauty and philosophy.
